Rachael Heinsen, LMFT
Rachael is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Columbus, GA. She works with individuals, couples, and families.
Rachael received her Masters of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego.
Rachael has vast experience working with children, teenagers, adults, families, and couples. As a Certified Positive Disciple Parent educator, Rachael has taught parenting classes, and assisted families in coping with children who often have behavioral problems or multiple diagnoses (ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Adjustment disorders, etc.).
Rachael moved from California to Columbus, GA in 2012. She worked at the Veteran Affairs (VA) Columbus Vet Center for several years. Being so close to Ft. Moore, Rachael worked with veterans from all combat zones since the Korean War and was able to work with their family members as well. She specialized in Military Sexual Trauma (MST) and obtained the STEP qualification to work with this special population. Additionally, she was able to work with active duty service members and their families. She completed additional training and supervision to become certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) which is an evidence based treatment program for PTSD. Rachael is familiar with many local resources for Veterans and the service connection claims process.
Rachael is passionate about maternal mental health. She has completed the Postpartum Support International (PSI) Certificate Training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, and PSI’s Advanced Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapy Training.
Rachael is the practice owner and provides supervision to associate professionals. Rachael is working towards AAMFT Supervisor designation under the AAMFT mentorship of Dr. Annisa Pirasteh. Rachael would be happy to talk with you about your goals for therapy.

Alex is a dedicated and compassionate professional counselor, specializing in supporting adolescents and young adults through the complex journey of self-discovery and personal growth. With over a 5 years of experience in the field, Alex has become a trusted guide for young individuals, helping them navigate the challenges of this pivotal stage in life. Her practice is rooted in the belief that every young person holds the potential to lead a purposeful and fulfilling life, and she is committed to helping her clients discover that for themselves.
Alex’s approach to counseling is characterized by her unwavering commitment to providing a safe, non-judgmental space for her clients. She understands the importance of recognizing each individual's unique worth and strengths, and her therapy sessions are tailored to help her clients understand and leverage these assets.
